Ident 2 - Components - Lever

Moving on from the insane complexities of the boulder; the next step of Ident 2 was to create the lever for DiscoverBot to activate. This couldn't just be any old lever... this had to be those old fashioned, over-sized ones that were about the height of a child. Good times they were...

Starting off with the lever base, this was constructed with a pair of sliced cylinders placed next to eachother on a cuboid base. Nice and easy!


A couple more cylinders and we have a good lever base. Again; nothing too taxing here.

The handle of the lever took a little bit more work, however. It was easiest to work from a cuboid and to push the vertices around under the 'editable poly' mode. A quick blast of turbo-smooth cleaned up the handiwork; leaving a nice grip on the handle.

The final step was to add the 'trigger' of the lever handle. A simple spline hit with the bend modifier took care of this one with ease.

All that was left to do was prep the lever and give it a bit of texture. Job done!
